The steering is a fairly usual twin bellcrank design with a built in servo saver, spinning on 4 ballraces. The servo sits very close to the centre drive shaft, and the manual suggests some servos might need a small amount of material removing from the tab to stop it fouling the shaft, the KO 2123 servo i installed was around 1mm away so it wasnt necessary. |

The front suspension is similar to the rear, again resting on plastic balls inside the pivot blocks. The steering hub is of the "C Hub" type, with a kingpin top and bottom. The front driveshafts are of a CVD style (unlike the dogbones in the rear) and come pre-assembled, though i could not detect any lubricant from a visual inspection, so its probably worth dissasembly and a proper look. At this point, i decided to drop the steel turnbuckles and use Associated blue titanium ones, i used a set from the BJ4x4 which fit well and look much nicer than the easily scratched black steel ones. |
