Out for many years, need help on equipment...

Hello everybody,

this is my first post here in the forum, it's brilliant to see that so many people are still enjoying electric off-road!

Here in Italy unfortunately the sport is not enjoying its best moment, despite the fact that some clubs are still very active (and organize international level races).

I have been racing for many, many years, but I haven't been able to do so in the last 4 years or so, and several things have moved on very quickly.

So I am asking for help to the experts on what equipment to buy to restart racing, as besides the radio I need pretty much everything else:

- car (so many to choose from)
- batteries (nimh? lipo?)
- ESC (for brushless?, brushed?)
- motor (same as above)
- charger (and again...)
- where to buy the whole lot from

Pretty much everything... :D

I like 4wd best, please help me getting my head around all this! :D

An idea of budget may help, also do you know the rules where you are going to race? For example are lipo allowed, any motor restrictions, etc?

While the budget should not be a particular problem (I like this sport) I would stick to something close to the latest (or next year) BRCA rules.

In general I would like to use lipo and brushless as it looks like they are less maintenance overall...
