S2 vs. X-6?

Any predictions on how these two mid-motored buggies will match up in the handling department?

elvo 02-09-2007 09:37 AM

They've both got a B4 front end, a 4-gear tranny, motor and batts in the middle, and a similar rear end with the wing relatively far aft.
How can they not handle similarly?

So what will be different about the S2 vs. the X6? Will it have a longer wheelbase, molded chassis, etc?

The S2 will have a graphite fibre composite tub chassis, and a wheelbase very close to a B4. Don't know what the X-6's wheelbase is like...

Big + for me would be the battery layout of the S2. This way my batteries remain interchangeable with my 4wd (2x3).

In theory the layout of the cells is open to your choice.

As you say 3-3 layout is likely to be the usual setup for the S2, but the beauty of the carbon tub means that different cell configurations are possible. With a moulded plastic chassis you are much more limited on your options.

eg. 2-2-2 layout will also be possible in the S2 (which will suit the S4 drivers)

Craig. The 2-2-2 battery lay out would suit me perfectly. Put my order for an S2 in Last night ready for next year.

OldTimer 04-12-2007 05:43 PM

The S2 will be available just as a conversion kit for the B4 so you would only have to sell a leg ;)

Also depends how big your limbs are, you may get more for chunky body parts:p
