Default Evo gear diff issues

Was wondering how other people's diffs have gone together?. Mines very notchy,no where near as smooth as the TM2 diff.

Any tips to make it better.?.

Phill

Put in a second gasket.
Pre thread the 4 x diff screws
Dont over tighten the diff screws, just tighten enough to get even pressure across the gasket. The screw heads should be just flush with the moulding.

Silky smooth!

Also, make sure not to get any excess diff oil in the screw holes. Eventually leads to a leaky diff

Cheers for that. I've got two coming in the post so I'll do that tomorrow. I've had it out three times and each time it's gone back the same.

Hi Phil

If the diff is notchy before fitting to the gearbox, then check both washers (T02154 5.1 x 13 x 0.2) for burrs. Removing any burrs really frees up the diff.

If it's notchy after bolting the gearbox to the motor plate then screws may be over-tightened.

Thanks

Mike
