Hi Muzzie, thanks for enquiring about our club!
There are no special rules regarding coming down, membership is entirely optional. Just come down and we will help you out to get started! It's in the middle of holiday season at the moment so numbers are a little down but there are at least 2 other Cats that run, along with very good quality short course trucks and a Durango is in the pipeline too. There is no web site at the moment, but the directions and times etc are on one of the above threads in our section. I believe you can race 3 times without BRCA membership, but you will need to sort that out to get insurance etc (it's about £15 a year) See you there! John

My lad and I are staying at my brothers caravan, in Sherwood, are we ok to come down tomorrow night (Wed)? We are running 1/10 2WD. We've also got a couple of 1/18 Losi Mini T buggy conversions that we have never run due to lack of places to run in our neck of the woods - Leicestershire.

As Jason says, any electric class is welcome at Mansfield, the more the merrier!
We have a nice large track, plenty of pitting space and mains leccy (but bring an extension lead if you have one)

Newbies from Derby!
Hi to all. Complete newbies to electric, we are Martyn and son Joel. The only experience we have had is a few times outdoor bashing with a 1/8th nitro (Losi 810). We have now acquired a couple of cheap and cheerful 1/10th electric buggies. Unfortunately Joel will probably not be able to join me as he is with me only every other w/end so when the Sundays stop he will have to wait until they re-start
Anyway, I will pop down on Weds night to check things out if that's OK and for a bit of 'before you start' advice? Looking forward to meeting you guys Martyn aka Heansters |

Newbie vs Novice
Hi, I popped in last night, impressed with the track and it seems well organised. Didn't get chance to speak to anyone - everyone looked well busy. I may have described us as 'newbies' but there seems to be a distinct difference between 'newbie' and 'novice'. You couldn't get more novice than we are - two RTR buggies literally 'out of the box'!
I am wondering if my son and I would be better to go and get some practice in on a bit of waste ground before coming down again as you guys seem a little advanced, judging by the massive tool chests and copious cars in bits didn't see any other novices or kids (my boy is 11) and I am worried that we will be 'in at the deep end' i.e we have not driven either car before and to think that our first go with them will be in an actual race is a bit daunting... |

Everybody has to start somewhere. If you go racing anywhere, just explain to who ever is on race control that you've never even run a car before and you'll get put in the bottom heat(beginners/novices).
Before you have your first race you'll be able to have a practice around the track. The best way is just to run your own race, take your time and you'll soon get the hang of it. Don't try and race the others or that's where you'll come unstuck. Just bashing on the street won't do you much good as you will need to learn the lines of the track(s) your running on and get used to having other racers around you. Main thing is to go and enjoy it and if your unsure about anything ask👍 Phill |

Carpet for RC Drifting
Hi,
My name is Matt Chandler, I've been doing some research on RC drifting and seeing what areas have a RC drift track or hold RC racing I have come across your RC Racing Club and was seeing all the comments about the track surface. As a researcher I thought if I could pass you on this information it may help you to upgrade your area for the drifting which may bring more racers in your area to the club. Hopefully this will help P.s. I don't mind putting some money towards if you do decide to upgrade. Just pass on the figure and I'll see how much I can put towards it. |

Hi Benny, as a club we are a buggy/offroad club and our carpet stays down all year round, we used to have a drifting section when we were a floor down from were we are now, very poorly attended. if you like you are more than welcome to come and pay us a visit and have a talk to our race director, hope this helps
