So do I, but even Cst labelled oil is not all the same
A comparison of Losi to Schumacher is: Losi to Sch 20 = 20 25 = 25 27.5 = 30 30 = 35 32.5 = 40 35 = 45 37.5 = 50 40 = 55 45 = 60

The two brands simply use a different scale to label their oil, neither company is right or wrong.

Shock oil is a mine field - always has been. Throw in a couple of other companies that measure in "wt" and i'd bet you'd end up with 2 more varients.
As Tom says, even amongst companies that use CST - they don't compare as you'd expect to.

Thanks Tom for the info (and congrats for your Neo RAce...) ! And about AE oil compared to Schumacher ones?
By the way, i'm posting my dirt/clay setup from French 2nd National (B Main finisher over 50 entries) which was closed to the winner. It is mainly based on Cockerill Euro 2010 setup... http://www.petitrc.com/setup/schumac...910/index.html |

Changes from Stotfold to RHR?
Having never raced at RHR what changes do you top guys make to setup between tracks?
Thanks, James. |

Tom, can I take it that you quote Schumacher oil figures when you post your set ups?

I'm not sure on AE to Schumacher, I'm told there is 2.5 between Losi & AE but I'm not sure which way it is.

The only setup on the Schumacher site that has Schumacher oils listed is the 2011 Stotfold setup, all others from me are the Losi wts. I now quote both to make it easy to understand and compare.

I'm still in search of some more rear end grip for racing on a dusty grass track. Car is nicely balanced with the following setup but lacks a considerably amount of forwards drive.
Rear: 6 hole piston 30 wt - losi oil 2.0 spring middle hole on tower and inside on wishbone 4 degree strap 3mm of anti squat washers on the 4.5degree block 39mm rear camber plate with spacer underneath and no washers under ball stud, mounted on middle hole on hub medium wheel base Front: 5 Hole piston 40 wt - losi oil 4.5 spring middle on shock tower, inside on wishbone 50.5mm camber plate with 3mm or washers under ball stud, mounted on outside of hub Other: Low diff, 8mm chassis 21mm rear ride height, 22mm front ride height 75 grams weight under chassis (located from rear of chassis to mid battery position, down centre) I have considered trying a high diff and short wheel base, any other suggestions are more than welcome.

How much weight are people adding? Already got various trishbits weight but also looking at rudebits under lipo weight etc

Looking at Tom's lipo, and rudebits weight, I'm guessing he was running around 350g of lipo and brass underneath it... Which means, if I run my saddles in stick formation, I'm some 60g lighter, and they're too fat to get any weight under them... Look at that, etc. |

I'm running quite a bit this year to make my car easier to drive. I've got approximately 40-50g in/around the front, 90g RudeBits Weight under the Lipo and Trish's weight in front of the motor.
However, last year I ran pretty much none, with my car just over the weight limit. So that shows either can work and it's all down to personal preference, so don't feel that the car 'needs' extra weights to perform, they are just options

Like Tom, I too run considerable weight on my chassis. I use 3/4 oz under the front bulkhead in all of the moulding holes, 1/2 oz on each side of the battery behind the servo, 1 oz in front of the mtr, 1/4 oz under the pinion, 1/4 oz in front and rear of the diff inside the transmission, and 1/4 oz ontop of the rear toe strap. I also used the alloy trans housing, steel layshaft, and steel outer gears. All of my testing is on dirt, med-high clay surface. If anyone needs help just ask. Tom, good job at the warmups BTW.

I had the same problem racing on worn grass with lack of rear end grip. I went from a long to a short wheel base and seemed to get bags more grip. A fellow SV driver also done this and couldn't believe the difference it made.

I never ran anything but a ultra short wheelbase. I shaved the shoulders off the rear arm front mount, and spaced the arm foward, then shaved the rear hub, and spaced that foward. Then I flipped the front arms, and shimmed the castor block foward.
