Excellent work as usual Jon!...

Got a quick question about you're masking Fluid. I'm prep'ing a number of shells atm and was wondering how long can I leave fluid on the shells?...does it go off...will I need to wash and re-apply if I've not gotten to the shell in a few weeks ?

How long can I leave a shell with the masking on?

Thanks Jon.

hi bud

to be honest i have never left it on there for more than a couple of weeks. i would think that it only goes off when in its wet state and that once dry should be fine. all i can think is that it might dry out over time and applying a quick thin coat over the top would solve that. you will have to ask someone who has done it. i can't see leaving it on there for a few weeks being a problem. something i will try and look into.

Jon, is this the clear coat that you use to back the paints up?.....

http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...ed=0CDcQ8wIwAw#

If so, does it have any effect on the finish of chrome?

Hey Tel, hope you're doing well bud.

I use this stuff..

http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...CAcQ8wIwADgA#p

Product codes appear to be different from what you posted but maybe that's just due to size.

I try to get the chrome buried under as much paint as possible. Also when using the clear I do the first/second coat super light and not too close to the shell. Then 1 or two slightly thicker coats after, giving about 5-10mins between coats for em to air off.

That's the stuff I use Jon ... never leave B&Q without a tin

I did not realise other people used it.
