Ok its a ZX but its not as bad as ypu might think. You have a wasp layshaft and yes no slipper but it works well and finding one is expensive. Gear diffs are great as well and I used them up until 2000 on carpet with thick grease, they work really well but i took mine apart and worked on reducing the slop.

Steering plastic bits are standard zx but the cf item is zxr which i didnt like and prefer the zx version.

It needs some tlc but its a good car and will get better.

Would you be interested in selling the WASP layshaft?

Just in case Iso has confused you the zx had a third diff located on the spur gear which was very ghard to set correctly. By adding the was layshaft turned the car to a total 50/50 layout without a one way and a lot of drivers prefer total 4wd without the one way, me i like the one way.

I tend to run oneways in the dry & full 4wd in the wet, prefer the way the cars drive with oneways fitted

Ok, i may be totally wrong but that chassis looks familiar, quite possibly one I designed in 2002, but could be wrong as i started making a chassis based on the mid to fit into the ZXS shell plus drilled the front on both sides to have shell holder sections bolted to the chassis to hold my shell. It may be a different chassis but does look familiar.

I do like the shape of it although i like the tub more so will probably move all of the carbon parts on

Forgot what was inside the gearbox, there seems to be a hell of a lot of parts needed to convert to a slipper so i might keep it & run a brushed setup in it unless anyone fancies a swap deal

James will confirm but the swap to slipper won't be too hard, you will need the layshaft from Alcyon and then the pulleys and Associated slipper.
I'm not sure if any of the bits on your layshaft are standard Kyosho bits.
The reason I want your layshaft is I am building a display vintage CF tub which has the CF gearbox James designed which is open meaning you can see all the internals and that layshaft would be a really nice touch plus be period correct

Yup, Alcyons layshaft, oneway and two pulleys with thrust race and a B4 slipper clutch and from rw racing a few 100t spur gears (get several as spares alway come in handy plus just in case an sc10 extra torque slipper pads, you may not need it with the motor your intending on using. But im unsure if your attending a vintage if this layshaft will make the car a non vintage runner so yes his slipper is great to have but also you'd best by a zxr mk1 slipper bits just in case but if you can locate a zxrr slipper (hyper clutch) then a better option.

yeah i have one of those wasp layshaft i like it ...i think i drilled mine for a shaft and slipper in it....

actually a didnt drill it but a friend of mine did and it was tight and i glued the shaft in place but i dont know where it is.

Iso, think the steering may well be. Also that top deck has me a bit puzzled, those two extra holes at the back have me a bit puzzled unless something was attached below on both sides?

You know a picture is all you need to get it made mate with fibrelyte. I think this was made by one of the rc companies in alloy and someone copied that design into cf. Its great and give loads of space to work on plus is light.
