Hi

As mentioned earlier It's possible for the association to provide Personal Accident insurance via our current insurers, BUT it would have to be FOR ALL - as we obviously don't use a local brokerage and go to specialist insurers directly.
It's cheap too - if we do it For All at about £30 per person last time we looked, but when I went and got all the info - quite litteraly nobody voted for it, so that's a dead duck.

So the advice since then is - Use your local broker - as if we don't want a 'For All' style policy then the only other choice is 'Indvidual' and hence the insurer will want to know quite a lot of info from you to quote.

Hence the Association 'recommending' somebody is then very difficult as One size most definatly doesn't fit all - and it would be an Insurer we've not used.
(A bit of Advice here - if they don't want to know quite a bit about you, then you should really question it..)

Likewise re Equipment Insurance
Been through this Three times (Big adverts in the Handbook and on the website etc etc), and the take up from the membership is so pitifull that the companies involved each baled out after a year of so

Probably because it's most definatly much more cost effective to shop around and find a Home and Contents insurer that will include sporting / modelling equipment removed from the home - some do but not all, shop around.

Now - if you're really switched on, you can buy Personal Accident, your sporting / modelling equipment with your H&C cover from one provider - and it's dead easy to do nowadays too - if you're on here you can certainly do it.

We (The, Exec Committee in this case) are not insurance experts - but our brokers are, we've been through these hoops several times, and hence we currently have what we have.

Want to check why - before posting it on a forum.. - emails work well..
