A quick query on wheels:

I have always used the wider type of front wheels on the B4, indoor with pins and out doors with mini spikes.

Does anyone use the narrower wheels and what difference does it make to the handling ??

depends how much the lipo weighs, you put enough weight under the lipo in so that the lipo is brought back to the same weight as 6 nimh cells

the wider wheels should make the car a little more stable than the narrow wheels but i guess the narrow wheels will give a little more bite

Just changing to Losi shocks and wondered what the best set-up is for a bumpy ish astro turf se-up.

35w in front with which springs (green)?
30w in the rear with which springs (yellow/pink)?

Otherwise I'm running a similar set-up to stofold

One word....why?? On the B4 I'm guessing?

Depends what pistons you have really.

Most xfactory drivers are running red all round 35/30 or 32.5/27.5 losi oils

Reason why I say "why" is because ive trialled Losi pistons Orange-Front and Blue-Rear in my B4 outdoors this year and struggled!

Local outdoor track to me is Southport which if you've been is very bumpy.

The standard no 2/no 1 pistons didn't seem to react quick enough when needed so I tried these.

Problem I found that you couldn't get a good setting easily, either too much grip or not enough. Most people run 35/30 with the AE pistons and I tried the same as a trial and it was awful. Did a test at home the other night and to get kind of near the same feel you have to go up 10weight heavier with the losi pistons.

Stook the AE ones back in as I know they work at the end of the day a trial is a trial I didn't like them!

In the B44 they work great though!!! Hummmmmm

Runnig Blue losi pistons in the rear will give you less pack than a ae 1 - and there for you should go up 5w in oil (35)

same for the front a losi orange = ae 1 again you should go up 5w (40 ) to get the same dampining as a ae 2 on 35

Cheers,

You need a bumpy set-up

Weighty and softy I reckon (green on back 25/30wt and silver/blue 35wt up front depending on car weight)

Preparing myself to be shot down haha

Cheers,

I know the AE boys ran green rear silver front and drilled a 4th hole on the rear shock tower pick up

pistons 2 all round and down 5 weight in the rear

This set-up request might be a little taxing, but I'm looking for an astro set-up to run on an 1/8th off-road track with large jumps. Here are some pics.

I am after a bit of set up help on the B4, I am going to be running it on polished wood at Faversham on Schu yell full spikes, it has the generic B4 set up on it but I need more steering?

Any ideas on springs? Oils? I am thinking camber link location could be critical in generating some grip.
