Default Car runs slowly forwards

Hi!
My RC electric car has started running slowly forwards! It runs faster backwards. I have two fully charged batteries and they both do the same thing. Now I think about it, it has been accelerating a little slowly uphill/offroad for a few days. Any advice? Do I need a new motor or can I rebuild it? Its a brushed motor.
Thanks!

Hi, my transmitter is a digital radio control system NO:H734071. My motor is a brushed 540 one. My receiver has no sticker on it! What other info might you need? Its odd how this just started happening a few days ago. It was fine before!
Thanks a lot

Hi, It still works in the right direction, its just that it does not go very fast forwards! If its going down hill it does get speed up, but back up the hill it slows down again, like its not got enough 'torque' to go fast.
Thanks again!

Yes it has three adjusters, one adjusts the steering left to right (ST Trim) set to 0, one seems to set it running backwards or forwards slowly if on anything other than 0 (TH Trim) and a third one is ST D/R which adjusts the range of the steering left to right, set to 5 out of 6.
Thanks!

What car is it?
It sounds like a ready to run "cheap" one (no offence intended!)

have you tried swapping the motor wires around and at the same time reversed the throttle channel so it still goes the right way, this would tell you whether it is a problem inside the transmitter pot

brushes in the motor could be sticking, the brush starts to wear and wrap round the com, arcing when going forwards but won't when revesed.

Try filing the sharp edges off the brushes. Or fit new ones.

On my sons radio, the direction you push the trigger when you first switch on defines itself as forwards so if you accidentally push the throttle backwards first, it reverses the direction and reverse is much slower than forwards so we sometimes see what you have seen

I had the same issue with my rtr blitz, the motor is dead, if it is a sealed 540 motor bust bet is to ditch the esc and motor and go brushless

Yes my RC loks a bit like that link. Different controller though. Think I need a new motor and esc!. Which brushless motor would you recommend for someone on a budget, please?

sounds like your a little new to the electric side of things so would prob think you would be better of with a brushless combo.usually plenty for sale on the for sale section or on the auction site.remember if paying via paypal dont use gift.

I had this same issue with my B4 and Novak GTB.
I reset the ESC and controller and it appears fixed.
I could go faster in reverse than I could forwards and on a 5.5t motor that's really fast backwards!
On another controller I have if I press the controller backwards before I press forwards it automatically sets its self backwards. I have to make sure I always press forwards first.

Instead of jumping the gun and shelling out on a new brushless system...get it looked at!

Pointless asking loads of questions when we have no pics/videos etc. It may be something fairly straightforward.

So, try to pop into your local model shop or club and someone could have a look at it.
