Question Hyper 21 problem

So, just recently put a hyper 21 into my hotbodies lightning 2.
It's generally running fine, but once warmed up, seems to want to quit after WOT.
After slowing or breaking, the engine idles very low and begins to die untill you blip the throttle. Normal idle is then restored.
This is only after WOT.

Also I've noticed occssionay there's a sucking kind if sound after shutting off the engine, as if air is being drawn through the fuel line or filter maybe
Is that normal, not noticed on any other nitro engines I've used.

Thanks

More than likely high speed needle setting, hard to tell without seeing it, if it's running red hot probably too lean, if not the fact you're having to blip the throttle means you could be having to clear excess fuel from the engine as in running too rich. Certainly not an issue with Hyper engines as mine runs fine. Try returning the high speed needle to factory settings, haven't got the manual to hand at the mo, google search should get you an answer.

Cheers

Adam

PS 'sucking' sound might indicate you're to lean and trying to draw too much air into the mix, in which case richen the mix by maybe a full 1/4 turn, always safest to tune from too rich instead of to lean, as it's running to lean that will cause any engine damage.

Are you using the pullstart or do you have a backplate fitted to run off a starter box

It's a pull start back plate with a torque start fitted.

hows the compression when the engines hot, if its a well used engine and compression is low it wont run at low speed when its warm, you'll a need new liner piston etc
