Default Lrp sphere with 1s lipo cogging

Hi all

i have being racing my Mardave v12 for a while using 4cell Nimh battery with a 13.5 gm motor , lrp sphere Esc (not tc btw but don't know which one it is as there two others i belive non boost version) and no diff. which has being pretty good but i wanted to change to Lipo.

Today i brought a 1s Lipo to try it out, first off i change the cut off to nimh not lipo, but iam still have problems..

when i apply full power from stand still its never stops cogging, if i apply 50% power it dosent cog and once i built some momentum i then apply full power..is there anyway to fix this.

Cheers

Your going to need to run a voltage booster or receiver pack with the esc to provide the correct voltage to receiver to start.

Have you changed the gear ratio to suit the 1s LiPo?
What pinion, spur, tyre size are you running?

diff won't affect cogging

if you are going for a diff mate why not change up to 64dp will give you more options for gearing you can find out the gearing a gearcharts.com.

Stick with 48dp unless your an experinced racer. 48's more robust.

Thats true Glen but it also opens up a load of options as well mate for himm to gear for diffrent tracks. what i liked about 64 so smooth gears and the car sounds silent but again it gave me a greater range in set ups.but i also run 48 as well to be honest the 48 is more robust as well

To get rid of the cogging on the Lrp sphere you do need a booster and the heatshrinked capacitor that comes with it originally.
I use the nosram matrix which is the same speedo but in red and I had the same problem and a £24.95 booster from amc sorted it out.

I'm in the same boat as Sammy.....Ive got a mamba max pro in my Dave....works fine with 4 cell Nimh but with 1s Lipo the wheels won't even turn! even with the Novak Smart Boost. I dont reckon the MMP will function with 1s....Have any of you guys tried?

I think I might just buy the Hobbywing 1s
