I always thought the ZX5 front shocks were medium length and therefore wouldn't work on a stock mid front shock tower as its designed for short shocks but I guess I was wrong!

They're mounted on the yokes, not the wishbones.
Wonder how it would handle like that???

Nice collection of Lazers Nick!
I dont know much about lazers, can someone explain me the main differences between the ZX, ZX-R, ZX-RR, ZX-S & ZX-Evolution, not sure about the timeline and if I skip a model. When I first started with real racing R/C's I begun in the R/C golden years with the Optima and left the hobby when the last Mid was around, the Custom Special. Never really owned one but saw them in the Tower magazines and catalogs. Then came the ZX which looked awesome and from that point on I took a looooong vacation until 2004. During that time I mostly flew(or crashed) RC airplanes, then left the whole RC scene and went to racing Karts and 1:1 road racing cars. In 2004 I returned to the hobby and bought Evaders(really good buggies/trucks for the price), B44's, OFNA, 1/8 buggies and truggies, etc. So a huge chunk of RC history passed without me knowing about it Well now you all know a bit more about me PS: Love the Kyosho banner!!!!!! |

So why did Kyosho went to using Yokomo wheels and Losi shocks???? Is'nt kind of weird, using the competition's parts for your product??? Also, so the ZX-S's chassis is better than the Evolution's, having the Evolution the cheaper 3-part chassis? |

If Losi shocks are better than the Ultimate shocks Kyosho had, if you are only selling a few hundred kits of the only competition chassis you have it's a lot cheaper to buy in shocks than than set up to manufacture them. As for the wheels, again it's cheaper to buy in others than produce the moulds to only make a thousand wheels, and there's already a plentiful supply of compatible wheels. Quote:
