Modified brushless motor - what turn ?

Guys,

Heading back into racing after a considerable break (15+ years)

Thinking about going with a 7.5T modified brushless motor, do you think this is ok or should I be buying faster or slower ?

2wd offroad initially and then possibly 4wd as well.

7.5 is plenty fast enough in 2wd, even 8.5 is quick enough.

What esc are you going to use?
One with boost/turbo/timing will turn an 8.5 (or slower!) into a monster if you want.

And does it have boost/turbo?
If it does, get something like an 8.5, if not. Get something a bit faster.
