I was given a hint that one may be announced in the next month or so, no idea when it will actually be available though.

I will be very interested to see, I've been on Futaba since moving on from my Esprit 2. I loved the feel of the Esprit 3, but the build quality and 2.4 tech didn't seem as solid as Futaba, however I still miss the Esprit ergonomics. I hope whatever they come up with doesn't change the shape/feel too much, I'd be happy just to see an Esprit 3 well screwed together with their latest 2.4 standard and an aerial out of the top rather than back.

I've heard it should have been announced at the toy fair, I'm guessing it's not ready yet....

Do we know if it's going to be the same 2.4 system, or a new one?

I hated the Universe, the KO Vantage Type R was head and shoulders better in feel, function and quality in my opinion. So im curious of the 4, if it happens...

I would like to see it all integrated like the Sanwa but my guesss is that they'll include the high response 902 module (blue LED) & 409 receiver from the Eurus wheel.
At the moment you cannot use the new module in the Universe (as I found out 5 mins before practice at Hereford) so would expect the new tranny to have the associated processor update etc along the lines of the Eurus

I for the first time at the Petit had no end problems running the Ko Propo 2.4Ghz.

It would not bind at all, but at practice Thursday/Friday it was fine.

I had to take my car outside to bind then walk back into the Hall was nightmare.

So hopefully if they do bring new Ko 4 hope they improve the 2.4 system as few guys said to me they had problems went over to spectrum.

Hope you can use the org rec cause i got few 409's, 408 & 407 too

Is there any more info? Anyone heard anything. In the market for a new radio and don't wanna splash out on a second hand esprit 3 if a new one is just around the corner.

They came out with this:

http://www.kopropo.com/america/index...sk=view&id=183

A steer wheel radio with a stick option for the wheel!

Not been any sign of a new stick radio. However my biggest issue with the Esprit 3 was the 2.4GHz which gave some problems, but that's been solved with the latest KO module/Rx. I've been running one for a while now and been very happy.

A second hand one with the new module is probably hard to find, so it does get quite expensive to buy the module/Rx + a second hand radio. Although some people get on okay with the old module. One option is the FrSky conversion which people seem to rave about, fairly simple and wayyyyy cheaper. I've not tried it though.

If you were going the FrSky route, then maybe looking for an Esprit 2 Type R could be the way to go, quite a bit sturdier than the Esprit 3.

Hi Ian. Has anyone been using the new KIY with stick? i read about a couple of problems with the KIY on an american forum. I guess it's more for the steer wheel side of things anyway. Shame they didn't just release a new stick set like the Sanwa exzes x. If I can pick up a decent condition good price esprit 3 and get the FHSS module it may be worth it but still going to be getting on for £300 or more. For a discontinued radio and second hand. Are parts still available if anything goes wrong? Quite a few pop up on ebay but go for silly money or have not been looked after. Wonder why they stopped production of the esprit 3? But still advertise it on their website Strange. What's the point if you can't buy one?

Hi Eoghan.c that was lucky can't be many of those left now. Thanks for letting me know the hunt is on.

Probably KO Propo does not have much motivation making the new Esprit 4 IMO.....because Masami Hirosaka is no longer joining the IFMAR race.......who is the most iconic person using KO Propo stick transmitter........
