With it being in an aerosol can it's almost impossible to say !
Really you need to get hold of small quantities of different thinners ( so you'll need to know people who will use thinners in their jobs ) and then test them. I'd start with basic celly thinner ( standard thinner ), then maybe try enamel thinner, acrylic thinner, 2k thinner (highly unlikely it will be that ) and maybe acetone. Or you could contact Tamiya an ask them... I'd be interested to know if you find out what works ? |

As I said in my previously in my post it will be a case of trial and error. Essentially it's an aerosol paint so by way of cutting things out, it's not an enamel paint so I doubt it's that but still worth a try, it's not an acrylic as you already said, it doesn't need a catalist so it's not 2pack which leaves standard celly thinner which you can buy in model shops and failing that acertone which thins next to everything so you need to try it and see.

and there the same paint Ive tested it on a old can of tamiya paint auto air reducer thins it, and so does tamiya acrylic thinner, and as already suggested so does celly based and acetone but i wouldn't recommend acetone as it attacks the poly carb of ur shell,

Eyup Chalky hope you're keeping well fella!
I've used Pactra thinner to reduce some tamiya fluro in the past, didn't need too much to get it to how I wanted. Give it a test on some scrap lexan tho... Mike P. |
