A cheap option would be to buy the mad monkey at just over £60 them just add a bearing kit around £10 then swap over your b4 shocks/turnbuckles etc.

As said, buy the mad monkey, its got a stick pack chassis...
Then all you need is bearings and set of shocks, the bearings cost £10, get some shocks second hand for £30ish and your onto a winner... Then on a personal note, i bought ceramic diff balls, silky silky Regards, Tom

Never ran them back to back, the only difference is the actual chassis layout, the saddle chassis Is only about £13? But you'll need a new battery strap.. The Cf ones quite expensive on its own..

The saddle pack chassis will probably be better on a grippy surface, the stick pack chassis will provide more rear end grip in greasier conditions.
Saying that, i,ve yet to try them both outdoors.

How is the quality of the madmonkey plastics? Because the madrat uses different composite that the X-Pro and it break easily. I suppose the madmonkey is the same, and the "good" version is the X2C. Isn't?

The only down side i know of is that its relatively new so there arent many set ups out there... ive been running mine since january and it keeps getting better each time i run it, however mines the saddle pack chassis so slightly different, the mad monkey is a stick pack chassis...
Keep your kyosho, buy a mad monkey, use your kyosho shocks and turnbuckles, if you dont like it, put your kyosho back together

I'm still thinking about getting a Mad Monkey because of the stick battery chasis, but there are parts with different reference number from the X2C version and I'll be using the car to race in the national championship.
Where is the quality difference? For example, the diff hubs part costs 7€ for the mad monkey/mad rat and 15€ for the X2C/X2/X-Pro. Maybe the latter is hardened? And the same with some other parts, not all of them of course. |

Anyone know where in the UK has shock towers in stock? All the usual suspect show the Mad Monkey or X2C in stock, but none are listing spares yet... and I'm too lazy to ring around |

Is it possible to use the B4 wheels on the X2c or Monkey?

There are optional rear CVDs for imperial fit (Associated/Losi) wheels on the 2wd Ansmanns. Not sure about the front though - there's a mod described by DCM for putting B4 axles on a Mad Rat.

hopefully sooner rather than later.... I have already modified a mad rat shock to fit which works quite well and a friend has been making some out of 6mm perspex ("Be Jolly Partz") eventually it'll be CF this is actually Rob's X2C. but it shows the perspex shock tower quite well.

I have a mad rat, I'm looking to buy a whole new car for spares. Should I just buy a Mad Monkey and use the rat for spares?
