ESC Fans and Capacitors Qu.
Hi All,
I'm soon going to be running a Reventon Pro ESC in my 2wd buggy. 2 questions about this;- 1) Is it always necessary to have a capacitor fitted between the +ve and -ve battery terminals? 2) Do I need to run with the fan fitted? Thanks in advance! |

Capacitor = yes.
Fan = try with out, measure the temperature regularly. I have a rev pro with no fan in one 2wd. The other 2wd needs one as the esc is tucked away behind the motor. |

Hi Matt,
Thanks! Any recommendations for capacitor suppliers? The ones off E-Bay don't stay connected long.............! |

Sorry to thread jack but I have a couple of question's , why do we need a capacitor for the reciever ? and if you fit one does it just go in the free slot on the rx ? I ask as I had an rx fail on me after a very short life and I'd never heard until now that I should fit one with a capacitor .

The capacitor in the receiver is to help stop problems with high power servos causing brownouts or if you run GT12 or 12th circuit it's usually a 1S battery that is used so you can use a cap to stop the same type of issues.
It wouldn't help stop a receiver failure. |
