Unhappy KO Helios, wrong battery connections (fiz pop)

Just connected a new battery to my ko Helios using the 3 pin connections instead of the battery holder. connected it as told by a fellow Helios owner, and it went pop!

Anyone know if it will be an easy fix and if spare parts are available of somewhere it can be sent to be fixed?

Thanks.

My first thought would be a fuse/ protection diodes if these are fitted. If it is a battery pack these may be integral to that if not it will be in the transmitter.
Does it still work with the old battery?

Sorry I'm not an expert on transmitters (but willing to learn). A quick google didn't tell me much though.

I'd put up a request for Derek Bailey's details to be pm'd to you, someone will be able to help, and get it sent off.
