hi George,

what grade do you have? i am looking for one of the grades above because that is what i have seen most rc aluminium components made off. and some grades are too soft and will bend, so it will have to be sprung

because i am looking to make a chassis for my cat sx. i think it will add some weight and keep it more stable on the bumps, something it struggled on sunday.

many thanks

lewis

I have used 6082 T6 in the past, few places on ebay sell sheets of it. Very good strength and not too expensive.

No. 46: I would also be interested if you have a source for 7075?

7075 T6 is good stuff, if you have the cash, 2024 T3 would be wicked, but its about 6 timess the price but you can probably make an aluminum chassis the same weight as a plastic one if its a tub design, on your cat, an aluminum won't be much heavyer, it would be easyer to add some lead.
