Hey Chidders, same issues with us. Tried all sorts of weights and geometry and gave up.
We moved to the Cougar but had problems with gearbox bearings. Have you thought about the new Kyosho RB6 or if that's beyond your budget what about a second hand RB5 based Vega's? Worked well for us - delighted with the ride. Cheers Nigel. |

For indoor carpet you would need a mid motored car to improve. I am about to get a dex210 which a few people have said once you get the set up tuned then it comes into it's own. I went from a 22 to a x2c and loved it, atleast a second a lap quicker. I will be able to help you with set ups as I know someone with a dialed 210.

Going to second DJs Dad, two good racers at our club have moved o RB5 Vega's and they have just gone much better straight away. Got a 210 and a SV2, both good cars but after seeing them and the new RB6 going very well, the Kyosho route is looking very promising.

I would suggest that you talk to one of the Team Losi drivers first and see if they can help you....find out through your local shop who to talk to or email.....
I am sure they can help but of course if you want to change then price will be a factor

the losi was always a hard car to get setup, you definatly need mid motor on carpet so b4.1 out of question but have seen alot of good results with the 210 but the centro converted b4.1 seems to be the most popular at moment having not seen any kyoshos run i cant comment so 210 good bet for money but centro if you can afford a bit more but dont want to spend kyosho money

I am on the same boat, ive just sold my 22 and have borrowed a centro for the past week and i run on astro and polished wood. the car was amazing at both locations and little or no change... but on the downside it is a bit expensive but the car is soooo easy to drive fast... i beat my pb laps on polished wood which i usually run a 4wd on...

Last week Darren Bloomfield came down with his TLR22 and blitzed us all by 2 laps. Darren can you post us your 22 setup for DMS?

Rob, as has been said, it is more to do with the setup and driving etc than the machine itself. Darren did indeed kick butt a couple of weeks ago now, but to be fair, with his talent he probably woudl with a shoe box on wheels, BUT, 2nd that night was Freddie who is just an "average joe" (I am sure he wont mind me calling him that when compared to Bloomy) and his car looked just as good as Darrens.
One HUGE help for you would be to either set up correctly or change the make of the "on/off" switch you appear to use as a speed controller..... But to emphasise how much it is not the car and that they ALL are more than capabale of being competive, Kev H, dominated this week and four weeks back (with an X6 Squared), Freddie (22) looked great 2 weeks back, Graham Eldridge and Mike Wright (both with RB6's) have done the same in previous weeks too all with different chassis......

I would suggest you learn about set up because along with the correct tyres your half way there. The rest is up to your thumbs. Set-up, tyres, driving . That is the order for whatever car you drive. If you don't learn about set-up, then no matter what car you choose, you will feel the same.

I am pleasantly happy about this thread:
I see a well respected Kyosho driver advising a guy to stick with a losi, and a well respected shop advising against buying a new car. As the OP has edited his posts (to avoid anymore correct advise?), the thread is now closed.
