DEpending on what servo it is, its pretty easy to open the case and resolder the wires, if you can solder ok and have a small tip
Otherwise there is a tool that can be used purchased either from ebay, hobbyking or I think MB had it. |

A set of small pliers and a steady hand is all you need... the terminals usually crimp both the isolated part of the wire and the naked wires. If you can solder the naked bit it's even better but if you do it well it isn't necessary.

I'm with OneKiwi on this, i've always done it via undoing the case and soldering. But it's whatever you are most comfortable with yourself !

You could contact 'pugs' on here (Stephen Adams) he will unsolder and re solder to the correct length.
He sorts all the stuff I mess up out |

Servo Wires
I get plenty of Servos ESC etc back where they have failed and its very commonly due to bad job at shortening wires.
I personally never shorten the wires i just gently tuck and tie wrap them out the way. However if you are very careful and want to gamble you can re-solder and it will work best or the crimping tool is good but i have seen people get that wrong too. Also bear in mind if you do shorten the wires you wont be covered by Warranty, also if you want to fit the servo in another car the wires could be too short!! If you are not sure then i strongly suggest not to attempt. Attached picture from a customer who servo had failed!! |
