RDRP V2 DEX 210 steering rack
Just wondering if anyone has bought one of these and has a picture of one of these installed? I am trying to eliminate the inside wheel slop that seems to happen close to full lock. I believe these racks are designed mainly to eliminate the need for washers on the knuckle arm to counter bump steer that occurs with the standard racks but wondered whether it would sort this issue also?
I have read another thread on this slop issue and some seem to say they have it and some don't, probably dependent on what combination of hub and caster is being run. I am on 4mm trailing and 25 degree. I can't help thinking that this might be the cause of the slight inconsistent feel of the car in a tight turn, well I want to eliminate it regardless cause it is not right. Cheers

I've got the RDRP steering arm fitted and you are correct - you no longer need the bump steer washers (I had 6mm).

I have not personally done this mod but i have seen it done and it works well.
On the steering knuckle the bit where it touches the hub at full lock drill a small hole and screw in a very small button head screw. Then when the steering is at full lock the screw head will take up the difference and stop the slop without any loss of steering travel.

I use one of these, and you still get slop.
Make sure the ballstuds face forward as they dont come with instructions. Oh and a 1mm washer under the steering block as well helped. The new durango plastic hubs do come with an extra spacer on them now that helps prevent the steering links from going past the point of no return. I use the rdrp ones though, which are great. |

Cheers for the replies fellas. Good shout that on the spacer on the hub to limit the lock. I'll do that.

You have to make sure that when ur steering is at centre, that the rack is perfectly centred, and then very accurately set toe!
i had this problem but set it all up correctly and i dont have it anymore, im running 0 toe and i have about 5mm bump steer washers! |

I am running 4mm trailing with 4mm spacers behind hub and 25 degree castor. I have 5/6mm washers under outer which eliminated bump steer but still have the slop. I have been really an4l about the centering and track rod lengths believe me!
