I hope it's wheels down for everyone on Saturday, even if it's a different layout those who have run will be more 'awake' come the first practice at the weekend.

I wouldn't mind having the track open for practise on a different layout... Just need to know either way...

Thanks

I'd rather the time went into building the track and not practice at all either day. Coming on the Friday just for the morning sounds daft but kind of essential if it's open as as Rich says there will be some advantage so you will HAVE to do it.

Thank you for assuming 'everyone's' opinion, but I think your wrong. If you even bothered to read the thread you'd see there are some people who would prefer there to be no practice until Saturday morning, including the post two above yours.

After reading the thread it appears that no one has actually said they definitely want practice, just that they need to know what is happening to make plans.

So, essentially, your talking crap

Well I for one would rather have as much practice as possible, if only to get back into the racing thing since I'll not have ran my cars since early december.

Besides anyone complaining that if there is some practice it won't be fair on those who will have not been able to make it, that's not true, you had 3 opportunities to practice there in the coming months.

Anyway I spoke to Nicolas and he doesn't really mind some practice on thursday and maybe friday until early afternoon, but at some point the track will need building (and since he will have travelled on friday he doesn't want the track built overnight) and that'll be the end of it.

I agree Dan.

Just sounds like a money making exercise to me

Don't forget guys, Ardent Raceway is open for practice most days - so if John was specifically asked to close for those 2 days, then it would in effect be costing him money.

Shame we didnt know about these practice days before entry. I would have then saved my time and money that i used to go up to a meeting without carpet and gone up on thursday before the race. Money, nor time will allow now, gutted......

This all should have been decided before the event and announced. It does sounds like a money making exercise in my opinion.
Its not *too* bad for us in the UK because at least its just a case of getting extra time off work, but for any foreigners coming across, they have all sorts of travel arrangements to change if they wish to have the same advantage everyone else will have.

Not good in my opinion.

Griff, I agree.

I cannot change my work schedule now.

I did attend an Ardent meeting to get practise in for the Petit race thinking that it would help but for some reason it was on wooden floor!!

I'm stuffed workwise as well now, but to be fair they are always open, it's not money making, it's avoiding a money loss. Best thing for us would probably be just have the usual open practice on the touring car track, but I think that would probably wreck their nice touring car carpet!!!

See Neil Cragg is now also on the awaiting payment list, thought it was closed?

Would be good to see him battling it out too. I'm looking forward to the spectating more now I think!

We are normally open anyway on Thursday's and Fridays so nothing different to the norm. Friday practice will be until lunchtime, then Nicolas is setting up the final track layout.

P.S. Carpet we are buying especially for the event costs more than we make, so money making ideas more than welcome. :-)

John.

I can understand the club wanting to make as much money as posable in these harsh times. But most big meetings close the track a week before to stop local drivers getting the advantage.

I feel sorry for the people traveling from abroad to be honest.

Track will close at 15:00 on the Friday not lunch time, according to Nicolas forum.
