Looks like i would have to draw up a OT-93. And mine will be cheaper than the other guy on shapeways. James, could you go into more detail about the rear width? About the stability and feel.

really randomly speaking of shapeways.
have any of you looked at https://www.3dhubs.com/ i was looking at getting a gearbox printed on shapeways for my XXX CR2 that i have designed. Shapeways come out more costly and didn't have as many alternate materials.I ended up getting my gear box printed with Graphite SLS (plastic graphite mix...similar to the losi graphite stuff i assumed) 3d hubs has quite a few interesting material that will be stronger than the standard shaepways print...they do a Fiber reinforced nylon which would be great for the bumpers they also do the SLS (selective laser sinterind) with carbon and kevlar. Thought id share my findings

However on high grip like carpet it feels out of place and the front has a tendancy to wonder so tried the original hubs and the back end is planted and the front is now working in partnership with the rear, the rear just followes the front. I do have an agressive setup and like to throw my car into corners flat out and like the car to be pin point accurate without grip roll. I hope this makes sense.

My next question regarding Lazer differences.
Is the ZX meant to use the FRP battery retainers or the plastic ones from the OTW-9 set. Do the MKII and RR have two equal length retainers if so what is the part number Also, which models have the FRP retainers with the square holes and which with the round holes? What is the part number of the posts for the square hole retainers? Thanks Dan

Dan,
ZX has plastic and my preferred one as it does a better job. Think the rr had the quick release square holes and mk1 had circular. Best check the manuals as ive no idea on part numbers.

I know I should know this so apologies, I think i may have asked but forgotten. Im after the diff spring used in the pure ten diffs as ive got some new versions of a spring but am unsure if diff or slipper but the ones I have are longer and the diff springs are slightly shorter so any idea on the part number? Issue I have is the longer spring wont allow me to screw it together.

This should be the last in my Lazer differences questions series
Did any variants of the Lazer have universal joints in the rear or did they all have dog-bones?

I know the ZX, ZXR MK1 & RR that I had did have ujs front & dog bones rear but the ZXS came with ujs all round. I cant guarantee I am correct though but thats how I got mine.

Traxxas TRX1 shocks and is a once off motor plate but basically a copy of the ones you see occassionaly on ebay, once off motor mount thats had the top deck mount section raised by 3mm to accomodate lipo saddles and weights under lipo. Hope this makes sense.

Ive another option, i got b4 normal shocks and cut pistons like trx / kyosho and they worked rather well, just not good enough for me as best with them was 2nd in the B at a major carpet event two years ago, it just lacked a little bit more refinement for my style of driving but you should find them ok. After that race went back to the trx1 shocks and went quicker and in my opinion are the best ive ever use but only downside is the shafts are like jelly so cant afford to hit or be hit.

[QUOTE=fil9144;957782]have you tried big bores rb6 or small bore rb5?
Phil, Durango big bore shocks fit on the lazer I put them on a tub zxr I sold last year. I'm sure any will as loads of room around the shock location. I find the option house shocks work as good as any of others I've tried , the Durango big bores, ae b4 and rb5 small bores . I have a carbon fibre rear wing mount I got for mine but never got round to using it, are you wanting one ? Last edited by rob m; 28-09-2016 at 05:46 AM. |
