Question B4 -vs- B4.1 differences

Just been looking around the AE website and noticed that the B4.1 is different in size to the B4. The B4.1 is wider and longer than the older B4.

Anyone know why this is??

B4 width = 246mm
B4.1 width = 250mm

B4 wheelbase = 273mm
B4.1 wheelbase = 288mm

B4 length = 366mm
B4.1 length = 377mm

Ash,

The B4.1 according to the AE site is 250mm wide.

According to the Losi site both the XXX4 and the XXX-CR are 251mm.

BRCA and IFMAR rules are 250mm maximum width arent they?

That 250mm probably includes the sidewall projection on the tyre, which may well be less on a typical minispike/BB tyre than the stock Losi tyre. I've never had any issue getting mine in the box, although it's fairly tight.

The only issues with Losi's being too wide that I've seen has been the very ends of the axles catching on the box.
But it's been so borderline that it's passed at round one and then failed round two!!
