If it's for the rear then would the ones that people run on the X6 be suitable (as the B4 & B44 rears are the same part no)

On another note, when are we going to see you back at Caldicot mate?

Talking Axles

I dont know a lot about this sort of thing but dont you put some spacers in the shocks to limit the down travel so that the axles dont fall out.

Hi Pete yep they are the X6 ones so if anyone has any can they get in contact please.

Might be there this Friday as it looks like our Edinburgh game will be off.

Put some limiters inside shocks but now they are bottoming out as there are 2 large limiters required. Also shimmed to the max already so need longer axles

You’ve not put XX4 rear shocks on have you? They are particularly long and it’s only the XX4 they really work on as the tower pickup points are so high. You need XXX or XXX4 rear shocks for a near perfect fit with relatively no limiting, that’s what I’ve got on the BJ4 I’m temporarily running.

Either way I'd advise contacting DMS for the X Factory axles

I've just mentioned this to Scott in a PM, but aren't the B44 axles the opposite 'sex' to the B4/X6?

i.e. the axle of a X6 is the ball part of a CVD, where as the B44 is the cup part??

So to fit the longer axles you would require the complete driveshaft set.

Perfect example photo (obviously not for the cars in question)

That's the front's only isn't it Phil? I thought the rears were the same on B4 & B44

na B4's have the bigger bit on the shaft whereas B44's have the bigger bit on the hub part.

Could try T4 driveshafts hehe or prehaps the centre front shafts (B44) are longer and you could build driveshafts/axles from them?

X-6 axles will not fit B44 driveshafts. In fact I think if you made the driveshafts go any deeper into the cup they would bottom out when the wheels go all the way up.

Scott- Your best bet is to just get the correct size rear shocks, it sounds like you have XX4 shocks on the back (to long both in the body and the shaft). You need the same shocks as you would run on your X-6 with 2 thin shims to limit the down travel.

It was some time ago since I built my B44 so I shouldn't be surprised that my memory is playing tricks on me!

Thanks guys will have to check the overall size of the shocks but I'm pretty sure they are the XXXCR ones. Almost positive.........

Perhaps stop having such big crashes and they won't pop out is the key

Hi,
From my experience you run the 1.2 rear losi bodies with 1.0 shock shafts.
But you will need to run the atomic carbon shock tower ( with two rows of mounting holes) we also used to run internal springs or 1 to 2 limiters.
Check the atomised B44 or S4 set ups for some additional info but never had any issues with mine.
The standard rear drive shafts have never been an issue.
Hope that helps.
Paul.
