Default Speed Passion ESC HELP!!!

Hi All

Got a second hand Speed Passion Gt Pro 2.0 ESC and have wired it into the car. The speed when holding throttle forward from a 7.5 motor is ridiculously quick. I have a standard program card to try and change settings but only get a dash sign in both windows.....

Got a feeling different software might be on?

I have tried to hold the reset switch for more than 3 seconds as per instructions but nothing happens.

Any help appreciated as the tyres are barely staying on when I accelerate when holding car in the air

Tried Neutral point again and has now let me reset ESC - Tried plugging in LCD card and still showing dashes instead of values.

My brother has the same ESC and motor and have compared throttle speed with holding cars and mine is miles quicker......any more ideas welcome :-)

Is the ESC set to Turbo?

DRRS 5+ I seem to remember.

Hope you fix it.

Cheers - Trying to see with the programme card but just get two dashes showing as thought it might be set up with turbo etc but having reset the ESC I thought that might take any turbo etc off.

I think the firmware needs to match on the program box and esc. (or something along those lines.)

Id suggest updating firmwares on a pc. If thats not possible. Maybe try others program cards to see if any work.

For now Id just turn down the end point on your radio.

With the hobbywing, if the latest firmware is used only the latest programme box can be used, otherwise you can use the older box but must also be connected to a PC. I know it's not SP but think they use the same box's and firmware

If you have the newer firmware I think you need the LCD program box. The LED program box won't even connect properly.

As above. Sounds like you need an LCD hobby wing or speed passion programming box.
Then you need to look at the turbo and boost settings.
You can usually pick them up for around a tenner or someone may have one in there pit box.

If you change the end point on you tx to say 95% then the turbo should not kick in as it only comes in on full throttle. That way at least you can establish if its the turbo or the boost that's set aggressively.

Yeah, just checked.
The LED program card just gives you a series of dashes, you need the LCD card.

Cheapest place I found it was giantshark http://www.giantshark.co.uk/product/...al-program-box
You just need to remember that you have to update from the hobbywing software, directly to the latest speed passion. If you update to the latest hw software, I understand that it's impossible to go back.

Thanks all for your help.

It was because additional firmware was loaded so with the help of others, managed to get the original setup on which now allows the programme card to display values

Cheers all
