Default Durango price drop

hi
just seen the next price drop of Durango kits this time the DEX210,
having paid near to £200.00 for mine not long ago I am more then disappointed to see it's second hand value be totally ruined by the dumping of new kits on to the Market.

This goes for my Durango SCT as well, perhaps buying a kit from kyosho etc that seem to keep the retail price stable is in the long term better option when you want to buy a newer model, as for Durango kits will we seem them in Christmas crackers or stacked to the ceiling in Pound land.

I am all for good prices but this type of retailing is wrong as we have seen so many model shops go bust.

I got caught out by the price drop of the ready to run, Can't say I'm that bothered. At £125 I'm even thinking of getting a spare kit just for spares. I think it great that you can get such a great car for such little money. I hope it encourages new people to take up the hobby. I know we have had a few RTR suddenly appear at Southport.

If you are buying your kits with second hand value in mind I am sorry but this is the wrong hobby for you. Buy it. Race it enjoy it and buy spares for it. That's how all the firms survive. The durango kits have gone from a good deal to a really silly too good to miss kind of deal. I wish I got mine at that price. But fact is I didn't and don't care cos I love this sport and in the grand scheme of things it isn't really very expensive. The very nature of racing wears stuff out and breaks stuff. Just enjoy it for what it is.

I understand it feels for you like wasted money what you've spent extra on the car... but it's a great oportunity to pick up spares, and to be honest I think these kits may actually increase in value again a few months after they've left the market, because the kit it replaces probably costs 200GBP again.

Assuming the V2 is imminent (and the V1's departure is), consider this: It's not unlikely that the V2 will have a Type B DIMEC chassis, which means different hangers, suspension blocks etc... V1/current DEX owners may therefor find the V1 kit more interesting for spares unless they really want a LWB plastic chassis instead of a (LWB) alu one.

On the flipside of the coin, with the Worlds (=new cars) coming you can expect price drops on kits - I wanted to switch to another brand and in my mind had kind of settled for a DEX210 already, but I was told to be patient exactly because of this. I wasn't expecting the price drops this big, but to be honest this is the sort of deal I need to keep enough money for other stuff/to continue the hobby.
