Default Speed Passion Reventon Pro 1.1EX help

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me here.

I have the above ESC and have loaded the STCK0 firmware (blinky mode) onto it and yet it wont power up on a 1s lipo. All the websites and even SP themselves say that the speedo is compatible with 1s lipo.

Any ideas? It powers up on any other profile with a 2s lipo just fine. Before you al say..Yes, I have tried several sets of 1s in case it was flat...

Please help

Cheers
Toby

Hi Toby. I always thought the Reventon Pro was 2s only....

The Reventon Pro EX model does 1-2s, not the 'normal' none EX version.

Toby,

I run the same esc in my GT and now Atom

From memory I had the same problem to start with, I powered it up with a 2s lipo and turned off lipo cut off as this was set at 6v on 2s and 1s is 3.7v so it wouldn't power up then checked all the other settings and powered down.

Re-powered with the 1s and all was fine

Hiya,

When plugged into the prog box and laptop yes. Even shows its in blinky mode. Does the same when connected to a 2s Lipo But not a 1s Lipo. Odd huh??

An UPDATE:

So plugged it into 2s pack and the orange light comes on steady no blinking lights or anything. There is no motor connected or anything else for that matter just plugging in the cells.

Plug it into a 1s nothing at all. wont light.

plug it into a 2s with the prog box connected. shows blinky mode (flashing red) with a steady orange as well. Go into settings and voltage protect is confirmed as off!!

Now I am really baffled.

I've got 4 that I've been running for about 18-24m. All 4 were 2nd hand and none have missed a beat. No complaints

Default Reventon Pro 1.1 set up problem

Hi I am trying to set up my new Reventon Pro 1.1 speedo.

Have connected everything correctly inc sensor wire and tried to callibrate it. All the usual beeps are ok, and steering servo works, but motor does not spin.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Matt

First thing I'd do is swap the 2 servo connections in rx and make sure this isn't a radio problem (actually, I presume that this still works - it was how I used to check stuff in old days) - if you swap them and the steering then works on throttle control you know the radio is ok. Also make sure nothing obvious like a dial on tx that can reduce range - I had this on my sons steering once - he'd turned a dial full off instead of full on.

I always set up the ESC by plugging into my PC and using the software as it is pretty easy. Make sure you have settings correct (forward / brake or forward / reverse) etc. Also is a cut out causing it? Again, either use the box or software and make sure all is programmed ok.

Check that abc output on ESC goes to abc on motor. Is sensor lead plugged in?

Beyond that I'm not sure as I tend to work through trial and error and I'm no expert

Hope that helps

Default Reventon Pro 1.1 set up problem

Thank you, I reset the Transmitter, and now at least the motor runs, I havent installed any electrics at the moment as was trying to get the steering straight. All Good fun, still loads to do and lots to learn.

Looking forward to plugging the car into the laptop, feel like I will be part of F1.

Do you run the SP Reventon Pro speedo, if so what setting should I use for a 10.5 V3 motor (stock settings I have heard but not sure how to download them) and then have a 7.5T V3 for when I used to racing again.

Thanks

Matt
