Default Painting shells advice

Hi guys I'm in the process of painting my own X6 shell using 4 colours.

My question is when is the best time to remove the masking tape after a colour has been applied? Is it best to allow it to dry completly before removing or when the paint is still a little soft (not wet obviously)?

Thanks for any advice you can spare.

I remove it once the paint on the inside goes matt, just be careful with any fluorescents.
