Default Dremel ?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has one of these and has anything good or bad to say about it or just anyones general opinion on it ?

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...37297&doy=12m4

Ideally i want a 240v one and dont mind spending a bit of cash for a good one. Does anyone have anything they have found good at a good price even? any help would be good.

Garry

Wooly's do a good 'un, £20 and comes with loads and loads of bits, stand thing and a flexi extention, all in a nice alloy flight case. Well worth it.

Why not just get a REAL Dremel?

IMHO, the one you show doesn't look large enough to have a strong enough motor to do much of anything or last very long.

I have one which looks identical to the maplin picture, (except it's blue).
It is not terribly powerful, but it does a job. I've had it for 3 years or so.
My powerpack gave up the ghost after about a year, and it's an 18V supply, so not easy to replace. I run mine off a 3 nimh packs in series now.

At £30, I wouldn't recommend it. It is lightweight and flimsy compared to a real dremmel, or the better copies.
I paid £9.99 for mine from Homebase, and it is fine for my occasional needs.
Cheers
Ray
