I don't think there is much in it between the AA, RAC or National Breakdown, I know the AA have the computer diagnostics on its wagons and are very good.

dcm has it right. the 3 mentioned are much of a muchness in terms of servive, help and speed. it just comes down to personal preference. mine is the aa as i have used them for years but others will swear by the other 2 as well

I use a company called auto aid, costs £40 a year, includes home start etc. Works in an odd way you pay for recovery from whichever company you want, then claim the money back. I've just had to claim on it with no hassle's.

as you are a member of the BRCA then you should get discount with RAC. But i can give you discount with AA.
make sure you get roadside assistance and relay. gets really expensive otherwise.

cheers

I use Britannia Rescue, they've been very good over the years and have worked out cheaper too.

A vote for the AA here.

They got me home on Sunday after my cambelt broke and did it at my convenience, not theirs. Wagon arrived spot on the requested time and we were home in less than 2 hours (not bad considering it took me an hour and a half the night before.)

they all fcuk up jobs they bring to us, super gluing connectors on so you need new component and loom, when is was just a broken wire, and some descriptions we get are hilarious from thier diag tools.
some of the guys are good but some are real cowboys of the nite

im in the rac because it comes part of my car insurance, used em once, i knew what the fault was and needed a recovery, they came told me wat it was (not) then gave me some crap explanation as to what it was, at which point i told em what i did for a lving, showed him the fault..................he never spoke on the way home lol
so check her insurance company out for it

Mark, I have met plenty a dodgy mechanic, builder, plumber etc.... in the end, they are a get you going/get you home service.
