My flatmate from uni got one of those 1.9 CDTi Astra's as a courtesy car (for a 1.2 Ford KA, decent deal or what? ) and they are indeed a whole lotta fun Southwell, he was spose to come down for the day to meet up and have a look round Reading etc, we ended up driving the Astra around more Only downside I didn't like much was that it seemed totally gutless at the high end of the rev spectrum, but the low end torque was pretty immense. Personally if anything I've made money on my car, but that's what you get buying a 16 year old Vauxhall Nova and making the flame pink flame red again

Interior lights not coming on- wiped out all the light and the head lights on buzzer
Fuel tank nozzle corroded and unable to put petrol pump nozzle – this was a 2 day job of striping the tank, rear seat, rear arch, rear suspension and breaks to fit
And now again....interior lights not coming on.

now I’ve been fine with all this and there really good in Cardiff in and out in a day. And I love this car and its my first new one- but the bloody jobs worth I had today wouldn’t give me a courtesy car, so I had to walk to work!! what pees me off more is I just rang now and they where unable to check the car over today...and then asked was I ok with the courtesy car I had....what Courtesy car.

so I now have to walk all the way back to the dealer after work to get a courtesy car that I was intituled to in the fist place.

think I might have some words for the nob jockey I spoke to this morning
If only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen.... Oh, it is a Volkswagen!!

as you can guess im with ford at the moment
Sounds like this car has been stored for a long time before you bought it, as does Millzy's above. Got to be very careful with new car deals at the moment as sales have dropped faster than production, so you might be buying one that's been stored in the open for months...

No idea if they're any good as driver's cars, but I wouldn't buy a car that had to be serviced by a Main Dealer for seven years at any price they chose. Every time you question something they do, or their costs, it'd be "this is necessary to keep up your warranty, sir." And then , at the end of even years...

...I've been screwed over for servicing, and depreciation - ask yourself, would you buy a seven year-old Kia? (Actually, would you buy a three year-old Kia? )

Any Porsche - lowest depreciation of any car over the years. Failing that, any Toyota or Honda over three years-old - you know it's going to be good, it's going to cost not much, and it's going to last a long time with reasonable costs.

The fastest way to p**s money down the drain is to buy a new car. My 'RcRacer-car' was seven months old when I bought it, and cost 25% less than list!!

Dunno mate. Not sure wether to sell both cars and buy a cheap car or sell one, trade one in for something with a warranty.... Faye doesn't want anything bigger than a leon but i want something with at least some poke in it, but is still cheap to run, tax, insure etc.
