Here is my setup for a very high grip astro track. For those who know the Belgian GP track, this setup is for a track with even more grip !

Apparently the pdf-file on my USB-stick is not working. I'll try uploading a viewable version when I get home. |

I will post a new thread for sure for the Cat XLS. I will post a pic of the old cat.
I'm going to try your setup at the track this weekend, I'll tell you how it goes. I just wanted to know if there any alluminum rear hubs for the new cat, or any other compatible parts for the new cat. I noticed the rear hubs are a little brittle. |

Yeah it was a BIG rear end hit, twice. It was during practice, and Slasher did me in the first time, and the second was a T4. I haven't broken any since. Gotta watch out for the monsters.
Attached is a pic of the old XLS Cat. |

It shouldn't need that much to get it running, you've got the hardest part to find intact, which is the rear upper wishbone assembly, repro shells are available on fleabay, good luck restoring it

Remember : this is a setup for a very high grip astro track, hence the staggered ribs at the front. It's not a universal astro setup. |

hi stefke,
thanks for info but with grey spring on rear it isn't too stif (because it is the same spring als carpet indoor track), have you try red spring? |

in fact I qualified with rear red springs, but the grey springs I used during the finals allowed me to lower the car a bit more without botteming after jumps. And it provided a bit more agressive steering with the front staggered ribs. That track is very smooth so the suspension doesn't have to cope with bumps.

thanks for the setup! I'm going to try it next week at the track. I haven't tried the Cat with the sway bar in the front yet. Who makes the staggered rib Y tyres?
thanks... |

Hi guys,
here's my setup for the MVB track in the Netherlands. It's a dirt track some a section with carpet on it. I'm having some difficulties to keep the rear end in the good direction and will need some more stability to make more constant laps. Turn-in steering is brilliant and suits my driving style ver good but coming out of the corner makes the rear end loose. Reading through the replies above I should consider an overdrive pulley and the 7.5 blocks but is there anything more I can do about it without these items? Thanks in advance, Michael Somerwil |
