Default Charging 11.1v LRP Lipo TX Pack Using Bantam BC6

Im trying to charge my LRP 79980 Lipo pack using my BC6 Dual power charger. I rang Trakpower to ask which board i needed and was advised of the one shown below. Im not convinced its right as the charger comes up with "connection error" when i try and charge it

The small white plug on the lipo fits the 4 pin socket on the board but its not a great fit - have i got the wrong board ! ?

Please take a look at the pics guys and advise me as to which board i need !

Cheers

You just need to connect the positive and negative from the transmitter pack to the output of the charger - just like any race pack. If you'd bought a Core RC charger, you would have a lead to do this

However, that aside, i'm not actually convinced that is the right balance port/board either - the connectors don't look the same. There are 2 that are similar, and I think that is what you have - but i don't think they are the same.

As another aside - my LRP transmitter pack isn't keen on being charged any higher than 2A. Not sure if it's the pack or my core charger, bust it tends to do some random stuff if i try to charge higher. 2A and it's spot on.

Right - connected it all up as per what you guys say. It now comes up with "battery vol err cell connect"

Im going to ring the place where i got my board from and ask them.

Cheers to you both for the assistance.

As long as you know which pin does what you can reconfigure the balancing port on the battery to fit the pin order on the board.

I saw you are trying to charge at 1C (3A). My LRP transmitter pack doesn't like that at all and comes up with error on my LRP Pulsar3. I charge it at 1.5A and it works fine.

Or if you want to be really anal about it you can charge each cell individually at 1A through the balance plug

No need for balancing then and as long as your charger does 1S you will take a while but get the job done

its a jst-eh, the pin spacing is the same as a jst-xh (board you have) but the plug is different. the bantam board is the kokam/graupner, part number eac128 or bancbkgr

You will as advised above need to connect the positive and negative power leads to the pack as well.
