Default 2wd Durango. Expectations?

From what i have heard are the going to release a 2wd next year. That is all I have heard from them in a mail.

Specs perhaps for starters. Side by side lipo saddlepack config in a narrow alu chassis and a mid motor. Hopefully a 2wd with easy accses to the diff for ones. A geardiff.

What would you like to see on the car?

I would like to see something along the lines of the Hot Bodies D2 Adam Skelding was working on.

A mid-motor 2wd with a stick pack running the length of the car would be cool too. You'd have to move the servo to the side somewhere and run the steering link over the battery somehow though...

That coupled to the easy-out diff setup would be nice

So, layout wise, like a 2WD Tamiya DF-03. Though obviously, it's a Durango.

I always liked the HB D2, and now that Adam Skelding is Team Durango, hopefully we'll see it again.

Think we are going to see a saddlepack version this time. I belive durango has a thing for narrow cars. Think it is going to be more like the Atomic Carbon S2 rather than the X-6. But with the motor closer to the rear than those cars. Of course their own servo position sulotion and a good looking body. The S2 doesent need as much additional weight as the X-6. Think the aluchassis can be a big help on a Durango 2wd.
Would a revesible gearbox be too much? Run the same car as rear or mid mounted motor. Designers challange

I am very sure that Durango will not even begin their development of a 2wd before they release their 1/8th buggy. Durango as a 2 man company is just too small to develope 2 cars at the same time. I also doubt that the car will have mid motor since its basiclly only England and carpet racers who wants it. There will never be any worlds held on such a high grip track as astro turf or carpet since those tracks are not IFMAR legal. Thats why I dont see any poit of releasing a mid mounted 2wd. An idea would be a car that has rear motor but can be turned around to be mid mounted, which should be doable.

But after all, Im pretty sure it will be the Adam Skelding designed HB branded as Durango DEX210.

That mid motor cars only work on turf and such is wrong. Have seen and driven them myself on loose gravel and hard packed gravel and it works great. Surprisingly! Didn't think that but I am convinced.
But then again, our winter series up north started of by the two top places by rear motor cars. The mids came behind. That killed the hype very efficiently.
The D2 looked good. Maybe it will be the next DEX.

I know for a fact that they are developing a 2wd right now. It is on the drawing board they told me in an e-mail.

hype hype hype

I'd expect it to look a lot like the D2

A changable mid/rear gearbox is being thought about afaik...

Sorry for not responding sooner, I only now managed to find this thread.
Well, I did that on my project car just needed low profile servo:

If someone design car from scratch, I belive it'll be much better and nicer solution as I had to work with what I had.

He said the 2WD car will come out in the end of the next year. He told me that there is one prototyp at the moment, but he hasen told me any details.
At the momen The Durango team drivers are all driving a Aluminium chaissis at their B4, nearly like the old ones but Lipos fit in there now.
