Default Glueing Losi studs for 2wd, the "OFFICIAL" guide

As prompted by several peeps, here is the official guide to glueing Losi studs onto 2WD rims in such a way as to allow the car to fit in "the box"

Losi Red Studs, Losi insert and B4 wheel.

Turn the tyre inside out to expose the beads.

Cut the bead off on one side of the tyre. This side will be the become the outside of the tyre when you fit them. Make this the side without writing on.

Now return the tyre to have the inside in. Fit the insert. Your tyre should look as this pic.

Fit the tyre and insert to the wheel. At this point the inside bead should be left overhanging the wheel (as shown) .DO NOT glue this side of the tyre in this position. You are doing this in order to pull the outside bead toward the centre of the wheel.

Apply rubber bands to the tyre to hold the bead in place. Now apply the tyre glue and allow to dry.

Finally, seat the inside bead into the wheel as normal and glue tyre in place. Allow glue to dry and job done

Good job you did that Craig, otherwise I would have glued mine straight up and then stuggled to get them in the box

Why is it always a pain in the arse with tyres for Tiverton though? We should all be made to run ribs

Chris if I were you I'd run and hide, even I wouldn't tackle Penny alone.

Erm.
Does this not mean the tyre is being cut and shut?

I know it's only cutting but it is modifying the tyre...

Has someone checked with Worsley for a ruling before you waste cash on tyres?

and also lots of finger gluing to said tyre.....

Lee if you follow Craigs way your car will fit in the box, if you just glue the tyres up they won't, as the over-hang is too much.

No as you are not altering the carcase of the tyre only the bead, which you sometimes had to do with ballistics.

Can't see a problem really, since the Schumacher tyres are regularly cut to fit also.
