No, that charger will be capable of charging an 11.1V 5000mAh pack at 4.4A because it's power rating (50W) will only allow you to charge such a pack at that rate. 50W/11.1V = 4.4A, or using my method, 50W/12.6V = 3.97A.

1C on a 5000mAh pack is 5A (5000/1000), so a 50W charger won't charge your pack at 1C.

To charge at 2C, it must be capable of 10A AND have a power rating of over 126W (12.6V x 10A = 126W). Oh, and be 3S capable.

Something like this charger would fit the bill. I have two of those, and one of the iChargers I mentioned earlier...

EDIT: ah, a ninja edit from you there, you hadn't written that much when I started writing this post.

Yes that charger would fit the bill. Even with a pinch of salt with those ratings it would do. 2C max on your 3S 5000 pack.

Are they in the UK? As far as I know, their nearest warehouse is Germany.

See my post - I did see your edit.

No problem about the help...

Oh, and it might be worth you getting some extra balance boards. TP and HYP/PQ/HP boards would be good

Oh yeah, they do post worldwide - I just didn't get what you were saying from your post.

And, yeah, it's for future proofing. If you buy a different brand battery you'll be able to balance charge it.

Default amps

All a bit technical for me at the mo', but I need to clarify something. I'm looking at replacing my lipos, now one of my speedos can deal with a max ampage of 25amps, so how do I tell the output of lipos, as I was initially going off the C rating.

divide the mah by 1000 and then times it by the c rating

So if a 5000mah has a 20c Rating then 5000/1000=5 then 5x20=100Amps

By the way the c rating does not define how many amps a battery will give out but it will give a higher voltage reading underload which may or may not lead to more amps being drawn.

Maybe someone else could shed some light on this as i'm not the best at explaining things like this.

Hope this helps

Brett

You sure on those figures? That would mean your average 50c lipos would be discharging at 250amps.
