Adding weight makes the car more stable and easier to drive by slowing down the speed at which it changes direction - perfect for high-grip conditions.
On lower grip surfaces it would be interesting to try less weight in order to prevent the car from feeling lazy. This is something I will try at the BRCA Winter Open at Worksop next weekend.. |

Although Grant loves a bit of lead in his car at Worksop S1 chassis no weight,12.5 caster blocks and an overdrive diff in the front works a treat.

Hi Simon, At the Petit Race you were saying you've been running the same setup for quite a while now and just changing the shocks would you share that with us?
The big bore shocks look really good, any idea when they'll be released? Many thanks for the for the bits, sorry if the curry was abit cold! cheers Rob |

Back to standard pistons at the mo.
What weight diff should I be looking at when comparing drilled pistons and non? I'm thinking 7.5w for 55 and 5w for 54s? I was originally selling my Cat SX for a SX2 hence why undrilled pistions are back in, but I've since changed my mind and just going to get the big bore shocks. |

Just wondering what the difference is between using 1mm and 2 mm track washers, other than the car being wider! any reason the team drivers are on 1mm washers?

I tried it the other week at West Bridgeford which is a grass track, and too be honest I can't really explain it. It made it feel more consistent, and didn't seem to bite so hard when turning in and didn't wash out when applying the power. I also did a similar thing on the rear by running 1.5mm on the front and 4.5mm on the rear so basically 1mm wider all round. Again it made the car feel more consistent round the track and handled the small pattery (is that a word) bumps that were forming really well. It's worth giving it a try, as it's difficult to explain what it feels like, but i'll be giving it a go at the RHR national this weekend. It also leans the shocks in more as your effectively moving the shocks out on the wishbone, along with changing where the wishbone pivot point is, so it's similar to running a slightly longer camber link (or a narrower plate if you like), or reducing the number of washers under the ball stud. Hope that helps.
