B44 to B44.1 Conversion
Just in case anyone is considering carrying this out, Associated have put a list together on their site:
http://www.teamassociated.com/pdf/ca...conversion.pdf It also details a few of the changes made to chassis layout between the cars. Does moving the servo inwards by 3mm really make that much difference? |

just to be clear , they list AS9708 as a roll bar (rear) but its actually the v1 motor mount :-s not the roll bar ! the roll bar set is AS9780 !

That'll be why they've put an 81 spur on it, to bring the motor in a similar amount...

I had a few laps with bradders' car at kiddy last weekend (looks like a b44.1) and it was a very nice feeling car. far safer feeling to drive than the std b44.

Maybe that was down to the new shell Griff!
Clever way to move the motor, I presume that's how they've managed to do away with the hole in the chassis too? |

Most of the parts are available from any shop with a CML account.
I think it's only the chassis, top deck & front shock mount that aren't available yet. Wezzer, any ideas when the rest of the stuff will hit the UK? |

is there any point to do these small bits and pieces really?
arent there new diffs in the b44.1? it comes with sillicone filled diffs right? that must be the best upgrade if im not mistaken |

It's refinements more than anything else, if it keeps people buying teh kits it's worthwhile!
I would guess saving some money on not having to cut cell slots in the chassis too. I thought that all diffs were silicone filledm if that's the grease you were using to build them! |

There is a gear diff in the B4.1 (non factory team version) it's the same one as in the SC10

i dont get the whole geared diff thing tbh ! i much prefer to run a ball diff rather than a geared diff,i found i was always messing with a geared diff rather than fitting a ball diff and forgeting about it for a few months, geared diff is fine if it just nationals that your doing but running a geared diff week in week out got a tad tiring !
As for the spare parts for the B44.1 , we have most of the parts now and as peetbee says, and is just the chassis, front top deck and front tower that we are waiting for, and at this time i have no delivery schedule, i will keep you all posted as and when cheers |

I have just bought a B44 to have a go at off road and to see if I can get into it again after many years touring car racing. Looking at the parts that you need to convert to a B44.1 I think the only parts that I think I am interested in is the chassis and the bulldog shell... do I need any of the other parts or were they more for additional 'minor' tuning or they hold up better?
