I have heard of rb5 diff screws being used, and apparently you need to use the rb5 thrust assemblies to suit, and I'm not sure about the nut but I would assume you would need the rb5 nut as well.

The standard ones tend to undo themselves or stretch. Most people use one from the RB5 or the 4wd also I think?. I'm using high grade steel ones from the after market bolt shops

Get the 4wd one and trim it to the same length.
Here is a post from one of the US drivers on the complete tranny upgrade AE spur and pads, you'll need to dremel or xacto the pad locating octagon as it will rub the TQ slipper plates alittle. I use the blitz alum idler with the stock top shaft. AE diff rings, you'll have to hit them with a dremel on the ID a tiny bit. And the 4wd diff screw, I had to cut about 4mm off the threads as they are a bit longer. This has gone a couple nights in my car without any issues in mod. To add to your trans mod I take the male out drive slide the 2 small bearings on the shaft and what ever sticks out beyond the end I cut off with the dremel. This helps with adjustments for the diff. Even more so when using the AE diff rings. You may want to use a brass shims between the diff rings and the out drive like they do in the B-Fast kits. |
