I think also some have been saying to use a thicker washer after the o-ring and before the e-clip as this can help keep the o-ring seated and stop the output cup from floating so much.

![]() With the thicker waahers the standard seals are fine. Now for the moaners, the every seal leaks you can not stop them leaking it's trying to seal a rotating part!!! An x-seal is the most efficient way of sealing a rotating part and if use an o-ring it has a larger contact area causing friction and a tighter diff. Yes use them in 8th nitro because they use thicker oil so friction has a minimal effect. But on the 410 it'll create a tighter diff action. I'm sure in the years of development durango chose an x-ring for the above reasons. ![]() |

Hmmm interesting? I re-built my diffs with the Losi O ring and raced all day Sunday with no hint of drag on the diffs or any oil leakage.
There seemed to be no detrimental effect at all? There is no extra drag on the diffs as the gear and outdrive spun freely before I completed assembly. I will use the car again this Sunday and if the diffs are not leaking I will consider the change a success. Damo.

Well, I've decided not to be a sheep. I'm going to change my seals to HPI P5 o-rings. They seem cheaper than Kyosho and Losi seals.
![]() The part no is A020 apparently, I'll let you know the outcome. ![]() |

I had interference otherwise it would've been a differnet story, I wasn't off the pace in qualifying.
Gone back to 40mhz. now so shouldn't have any issues. ![]() |

HaHa with cmgreen,
@ dpack you have only gone back to 40mhz while your 2.4ghz get serviced @ toys 'r' us !!! Really tho, pack that is a good find if you have found hpi seals and they are the same. kyoshos are expensive and seemed to be getting a little hard to find a little while ago. |

The HPI ones aren't described as silicone so they'll probably just be rubber. I think they'll be harder but should be more than upto the job as they are fitted in aload of HPI ic car diffs.
![]() If it works what a find, it's less than £2 for 4. |
