Etronix/core-rc RX voltage
So I just got my Etronix 2.4 system running (same as the core-rc), after using 27mhz before.
I switched to 2.4 because I had loads of range issues with the 27mhz and luckily these are gone! There's a new problem though. the 2.4 system seems to react a little slower than the old 27mhz one. It kind of takes a split second before it does anything, which is extremely difficult in fast direction changes and also throttle control. Is this normal? Like I said, my old system didn't do that. My ESC has a 6V BEC supply, BUT the Etronix manual says the Etronix only takes 4.8 to 5.6v, so I got a step-down voltage regulator which makes the ESC put out 5.1v. Should I try supplying the 6V to the receiver directly, or would it potentially damage the receiver, and have no influence on the reaction time of the receiver? |

cant see it been a problem i run my core straight from the esc running a novak gtx also use my speed passion inspire have no problems with either

for got to mention you should have a the option to adjust the speed of your steering and throttle try that is it just on the steering?

Hi,
I've just bought the Etronix 2.4 stick radio and think overall its great for the price. I have had one issue with it though, which is sometimes extra quick servo movements shut down the Rx. Oddly enough its never done it in a race, but if you 'wiggle' the steering whilst sat on the grid for example it'll shut down then power up again. Been told i need to get a Rx capacitor, so gonna try that today. BTW i'm running the Rx straight off of a Mamba Max Pro esc. Dave |

what battery voltage are you running?yes you need a power cap i run 1 on ny core rc as i had the same issue when using on 4.8v not as bad with 7.2v or lipo 7.4v but have it on just in case i made my own rather then buying 1 works out loads cheaper will get the specs off my capacitor for you

Just got home and tried the power cap and it works a treat!
The one i've been given to use is 10 V & 2200 uF. Just solder it onto an old servo/ESC plug and put it in a spare slot on the Rx. Dave |

I had an issue on Sunday running my Tamiya Mini at Ardent (Speed Passion ESC, 13T EZRUN motor, Savox low profile servo and MRT PTX) where sometimes, with even the slightest tap of the barrier, the car would completely cut out and sit there with the green LED on the reciever flashing. I obviously checked all the connections, un-plugged and re-pluged everything, tried different lipo packs, and even had the MRT PTX in the battery socket or channel 3 and the same thing (sometimes) happened!
Do I also need a power capacitor, or could this be a faulty reciever? Ian |

you may need to check the pins on your esc at the receiver end just to make sure there not loose,if there fine try a power cap it should solve your problem.

Another question: Lately, sometimes I have been experiencing some servo twitching. It's very weird, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. What I found out is that it usually happens when I plug in a 100% charged battery. It happens under zero load (haven't even touched the transmitter) and the throttle is 100% normal, it's just the steering that's affected.
WOuld a powercap help with this? Any other options? |

twitching is caused by interference have you got any cables running very close to your receiver wire?

you want a 10v 4700uf go on ebay there cheap on there and there the samething

There is a 16v 4700uF one at Maplins, would that work OK?

yes but it will be alot bigger then a 10v 1 check the sizes of them

16v 4700uF 25mm long, 16mm diameter or 2200uF 25mm long, 12.5mm diameter for 74p or 89p!
I'll check the pins in my ESC plug, then probably go with the bigger/cheaper one! Regards Ian |

Is this the Pulse FHSS advertised in the JEspares.com banner? I was umming and arring about that. Everyone says wire a capacitor into the spare receiver socket using an old cable, am I right to assume it is the black and red (pos and neg) wires?

Yes,
Use the +ve and -ve pins on the Rx spare channel. Check the polarity of the capacitor too as you need to have it wired up the right way! Dave |
