I've never had the pleasure of running the 511 but a few members at the club have them and they go really well. I can only say that after running my 502x I'm very very impressed with how it runs and handles and look forward to the forthcoming seasons racing with it. 1 thing I am slightly annoyed at is the lack of spare parts available, when I bought the 201 I was able to buy a load of spares for it but none of the shops I get my Tamiya gear from seem to have anything except diff parts for the 502x.
Overall excellent car and very happy with it.
Scotty....

The TRF502X is an awesome buggy. I also do not have a 511, but compared to my TRF501X, the TRF502X feels 100x more comfortable to drive. It was easy to setup. Feels very quick and agile on the track. Jumps nicely. And, builds like a TRF! I would highly recommend the TRF502X.

The lack of spares is a bit scary (bulkheads & gear boxes). I'm always dodging short course trucks and 1/8 EP buggies on the track. I'm afraid one day I won't be so lucky, and I'll get flattened by a 1/8 buggy going the wrong way down the straight.

If you're serious about racing the 502, buy two kits. One for racing, one for spares. I still race my 511, but found another, hardly used one in a local advertising section for a reasonably amount. I have plenty of spares now to last me the forthcomming season. It is about the only way to get access to spares when the car is brand new, like the 502.
