Race and drift japan have them on pre-order...
Not particularly happy with my B4. But it's paid for... And likely will be as fast or close enough. I don,t get to race enough for it to be worth buying the Yok... Quote:

If you don't get to race that much it's particularly important to have a car on your shelf that you like. Everytime you see it, you will think "Man, I'd love to race right now!" instead of "I could go to the track right now, but I don't wanna spend my time with this pile of %#*!"
I was thinking about getting a cheap buggy like an Ansmann MadRat/Monkey or LRP Twister for the same reason (time), but if you know the feel and look of a quality kit, these cars just won't do. Damn, wouldn't that B-Max2 look lovely on my bookshelf?! |

Manual online!
http://www.teamyokomo.com/jpn/downlo...ax2_manual.pdf Nice little feature with the additional 5-15grams spots front/rear. I'm looking forward for some nice bling from rudebits, cream rc, or maybe a midconversion vega style?! hehe. ... but first the kits must arrive, and we're still waiting. I hate it... hehe

I hope the Proline B4.1 hex adapters will fit. The axle looks like it is machined to 3/16". Bearings in the front wheels are ok (AE conversion axles are available), but I just don't like the drive pins in the rear - too many wheels destroyed on my SC10 in the past...

The drive pins are in my opinion much saver that the hex'es in asso style. I never destroyed a yokomo rim over the last 3 years with lot racing, testing and training. I'm driving with drive pins front and rear.
By the way are the yokomo rims to be honest, one of the best rims on the martket. Very durable, and very strong! Some of my training rims were over 5 times in aceton, without getting harder or getting destroyed!

In my experience, it is easier to mount a hex wheel correctly. You are probably right about the better quality of Yokomo wheels, though.
Is there any reason the B-Max2 springs have other colour codes than the B-Max4 versions? Additional springs to choose from? I wonder what springs to get for comparably low bite and high bite Astroturf tracks. The kit springs will probably be the right coice for dirt tracks. |

Yes, they are new springs with new rates. I dont know the exact rates at the moment. There are also new tapered pistons, avaible in 1, 2 and 3. Will be also something for the Bmax4.

just to say ive been using losi and associated wheels that are at least 7 years old and theyve gone through acetone quite a few more than 5 times and theres no difference in the flex compared to new wheels, just a thought

I never had any problems with Kyosho and Hot Bodies wheels either. Tamiya TC wheels on the other hand...

The Losi Aluminum hexes fit perfectly on the Bmax4, so they should be a perfect fit here as well? A wide 12mm hex is one of the most solid solutions out there, and I love having the same rims for all my cars:-)

Got mine sitting on the bookshelf!
I pretapped all M3 threads in the plastic, (highly recommended at least on the chassis parts - this kit seems to be as tough as a tank!) and the built was a breeze. In particular the shocks are a dream, even better than on my previous ZX-5SP. Just hope Sanwa hurries up and brings the MX-V across the pond asap... I wanna race! p.s.: Wheel hexes: I've got the PL adapters for the B4. Perfect fit, but you've got to add some shims or spacers between the pin and the bearing. I ordered the blue Kyosho spacers LA-253. 3/16" will only fit directly after the pin, some 5 mm shims are needed after the bearing. I had to snap open some 3/16" shims for the time being. Edit: German language built report online! Maybe the Google translator helps and the result isn't too funny... Last edited by mes; 13-03-2012 at 05:09 PM. Reason: Link added |

Yes, the kit is available! Got mine from Team Yokomo Europe. Not many parts are available yet in their online store, but in the mean time there is still Race and Drift Japan...

Edit: When comparing pictures of the B-Max 4II and B4.1 rear axles, I get the impresseion that the PL hex adapters are a perfect fit. Can anyone confirm that? |

Yes, the Yok Hex of the BX and Bmax4 are the same ( the four Hex are the same )...and fit perfectly on B4 dogbones...so I suppose that, the PL Hex, as they are made for the B4...they can fit on Bmax4.
But no manufacturer made 12mm hex Wheel for 4WD front... |

Bastos, Kyosho 4wd front wheels use 12mm hex
