Default DEX210 hates grass

our club races on a grass track and inevitably we end up with some loose grass lay on the track which is picked up by the cars. All cars are fitted with little lexan covers to reduce the grass wrapping around the driveshafts, but the DEX210 seems to collect it inside the wheels on top of the hubs.

I can only manage half the race before the car won't go in a straight line and gets slower and slower until it just won't go forward.

I've started to shave down the tops of the hubs to try and gain some clearance, but it doesn't help much as you can only gain 1mm at most.

I am thinking the alloy hubs may solve this as they have the ball stud vertically though...

I have noticed that there isn't much room there and at a gravel track race a little while ago a few people had problems with stones catching there.

Thought about running some internal wheel covers?

AKA make some for the 8th wheels, maybe you could cut out some lexan and glue it to the insides of the wheels, should help with the grass collecting.

I'm going to try attaching 2 bits to the sides to try and divert the grass around the wheel rather than letting it enter it. see how that goes.

Quite a few people had issues when we raced on a slightly damp grass track that was mowed the day before. I was trying to think of away to attach a piece of lexan to either the wishbone or hub to stop it getting in.

Use the shock mounting hole and the outer hinge pin screw and a large washer.

I did that, but it ended up protecting the driveshaft and channeling the grass into the wheel

I'll add side deflectors
