my buddy picked his up friday night his 14 yr old lad (no previous assembly experience) had it build in a couple of hours on Saturday looks nice too
our club is planning to run alongside daves for a while, motor specs will be limited to current rules (no 2s powered) pricewise there comparable to top spec daves i look forward to locking horns its good to see competion for the daves thats how progress is else we would still be driving horse and carts and working 14 hours down pit or on the land (tongue well and truly embedded in cheek guys) |

Although Henry Ford probably never said it, it is always attributed to him...
"If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse." No one asked for a mobile 'phone, a word processor, a touch screen or even a power source for their laptop on a long haul flight. The truth is that people will only ever tell the focus groups, interviewers and marketing people that they want what is already there, only better, faster and cheaper. Competition never improves the breed, it just makes them extinct - no more carts, horses, pits or tilling the soil - but that doesn't stop that ridiculous mantra being spun out on every conceivable occasion. It's almost as bad as "let the free market decide." The market did decide, but the Governments stepped in to save the banks!! A competition between people and technology is, however, one of the best ways of having fun. It's great to see so many people coming in to have a go now that the class is seen as lots more than just a 30-year-old design. May the best car win!! |

Like the look of these for our club. Can the 2cell version accept normal saddle packs ? and would you beable to use just one saddle on the 1 cell chassis, or would you have to buy the specific 12th scale 1 cell lipo ?

6 cell/2s car does take two saddle packs, most are running 1s, 4 cell/1s car, yes one half of a saddle will fit giving you 1s

The 2S version accepts a saddle pack but I hated mine so have converted it to a 1S by changing the chassis, battery nest and Velcro straps. It was an expensive lesson. A single saddle pack does fit in the 1S chassis but it flops about a bit so probably best held in with cell tape.

These cars work at a certain weight and weight distribution, and not at any weight or weight distribution. The reason we have a 950g weight limit is that if you run them lighter they are not as good, and if you hang weight outside the chassis width they don't handle well at all.
Whilst I appreciate that people are not too keen on 1S because they already have a 2S pack, or they don't like running a 2S speedo with a booster or receiver pack, the ideal combination for these cars is 1S with a Hobbywing 1S v2.1 or this new one from Schumacher... http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/Manufa..._RC/CR173.html ...neither of which need the receiver pack or booster. Almost any 1S pack will do, but consider the SMC 6000 pack as it is very good and inexpensive for a quality pack. one should do even for a club night. HTH |
