Can anyone tell me the handling differences between the two battery configurations?

Inline for high grip tracks like they have in the US, across for our lower-grip tracks. In line will make the car twitchy and hard to drive and thus slower. Andy Moore and Marc Reinhard both ran cells across at the Worlds 2012 for that reason. HTH
